When art and wine come together in the most unforgettable synergy!
Absinthe Makes the Art Grow Fonder
Most artists and writers living in France in the late 19th and early 20th century were committed absinthe drinkers and even featured absinthe in their work. They certainly created under the influence of absinthe, including Vincent van Gogh, Édouard Manet, Amedeo Modigliani, Arthur Rimbaud, Guy de Maupassant, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Verlaine, and many others.
Later artists and writers drew from this cultural wellspring, including Pablo Picasso, August Strindberg, Oscar Wilde, and Ernest Hemingway. Emile Cohl, an early pioneer in the art of animation, presented the effects of the drink in 1910 with the short film, Hasher's Delirium.
Toulouse Lautrec and Vincent van Gogh popularized the notion that absinthe had psychoactive if not creative properties. Oscar Wilde described the sensation of tulips on his legs after leaving a bar.
Today it is known that absinthe does not cause hallucinations. It's fun to think that this anise-flavored spirit may have enhanced creative inspiration, though. What we know for sure -- great, natural wine enhances the art spirit as you will find out in Painting with Taste.
To test this more scientifically we will have two groups -- one will paint while enjoying estate, glorious Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and of course the pink bubbly -- K's Pomegranate Cuvee. The other group will sip water and with ice if desired. Which group will you join? The water group has limited space.

Painting with Your Palate and Palette
So, yes, uncork your inner artist at "Painting with Taste," combining the best of what wine country offers.
Paint outdoors in one of the most beautiful vineyards ensconced in the magical Santa Lucias. Sipping and savoring the estate wine from the vineyard surrounding and captivating you (we like to think the wine also inspires!) allows the artist within you (ignored too long) out in the open to create a masterpiece.
Best part... all materials included, and you take your artwork with you and leave the clean up behind, but not the wonderful, relaxing experience that will stay with you forever.
You will be attended by an accomplished artist who guides you to a new-found creativity that will actually surprise if not thrill you. By the end of the afternoon you will have painted a special artwork!
Celebrate the creative spirit and frame the memories!
